Supreme court retired chief justice, Justice N V Ramana on Wednesday donated Rs 20 lakh to the two Telugu states to the flood relief works. He donated Rs 10 lakh to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on the day.
Justice Ramana handed over the cheques to the resident commissioners of Telangana and Andhra Bhavans in New Delhi on the day. He called the resident commissioners and handed over the cheques to them, which were meant for the chief minister’s relief fund.
The retired chief justice of India said that he was pained at the plight of the flood victims in the two Telugu states. He said that he had been watching the plight of the flood victims on the TV channels for last 48 hours. He said that he was moved by their plight and also the efforts of the government officials in helping the victims.
Justice Ramana appealed to the people to help the flood victims of the two Telugu states. He wanted the industrialists and people with big heart to come to the rescue of the flood victims. He wanted the people to donate generously to the relief funds of the chief ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
