Former minister and senior YSR Congress leader Ambati Rambabu on Thursday sought to advise deputy chief minister K Pawan Kalyan to demolish chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s residence. He said that Pawan Kalyan is a minister for environment and forests. He should know that there should not be any permanent structures in the water beds, Rambabu said. He wanted the deputy chief minister to demolish the house before speaking about floods.

Rambabu told the media persons at the party central office in Tadepalli that the officials have hesitated to release Budameru flood water into Krishna river due to the presence of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu’s house. They feared about the inundation of the house and hence left the Budameru flood water to flow in the rivulet which submerged Singhnagar, Payakapuram and other areas.

The former minister said that even the excess water in Krishna rive was also left into the Budameru through the 11 gates. The excess water from the Budameru was meant to be released into Krishna river to avoid inundation of the city, he said. However, this time, the excess water from Krishna river was left into the Budameru rivulet, he alleged.

Chandrababu Naidu’s house was inundated forcing him to shift to the NTR district collectorate, the former minister alleged. Naidu’s security personnel have saved the furniture in the ground floor of the house, he said and alleged that people of Singhnagar and Payakapuram could not shift their belongings. They were all submerged in the flood waters, he said.

He said that Pawan Kalyan was speaking about encroachments on Budameru rivulet. He sought to advise the deputy chief minister that Chandrababu Naidu’s house was on the encroached land of the Krishna river. He wanted the deputy chief minister to act on this first before talking about the encroachments on Budameru.

Rambabu blamed the TDP and Jana Sena leaders for pointing an accusing finger at former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He alleged that the ruling coalition leaders were shifting the blame of the former chief minister to cover up their failure.

He said that there was flood warning to the state on August 28 and regretted that either the chief minister or the irrigation minister have held review meeting with the officials. The government had totally ignored the flood warning, he said. He also blamed the state government for not preparing the people or shifting them in advance to the relief camps. Had the government acted in advance, the situation should have been different, the former minister said.
