Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister K Pawan Kalyan donated Rs 6 crore for the flood relief in the two Telugu states. He donated Rs 5 crore for Andhra Pradesh and Rs 1 crore for Telangana as part of his social responsibility scheme.

The deputy chief minister said that Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu was doing well in the relief works. He said that the chief minister had visited the flood victims twice and is monitoring the relief works closely. The experience of Chandrababu Naidu had come handy for the government officials to serve the flood victims, the deputy chief minister said.

He expressed confidence that Andhra Pradesh, particularly the Vijayawada city would return to normalcy shortly. The lives in Vijayawada city would return to normalcy from the calamity, he said. He expressed confidence that the administration would do its best at the time of crisis.

He said he was not visiting the flood-hit areas because of the relief work. The officials would be around him in the flood-hit areas leaving the relief work. He does not want the relief work to be disturbed, he said. He further added that the chief minister is already with the people and the officials are with him.

The deputy chief minister came down heavily on the opposition YSR Congress for criticizing the government on the floods to Vijayawada and the relief operations. He said that the YSR Congress leaders were sitting in their houses and criticizing the government which is doing well with the flood victims.

He blamed the YSR Congress government for its failure to develop and protect the water bodies. The government had ignored the maintenance of the water bodies in the last five years, he said. The YSR Congress leaders have amassed wealth in the last five years while the state suffered.

Pawan Kalyan said that the YSR Congress regime marked harassment to the opposition parties and looting the state. The state had gone back to 20 years in the last five years, he said. The chief minister was working hard to put the state on track, Pawan Kalyan said.
