The State government had distributed essential commodities to the flood victims in Vijayawada on Thursday. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar inaugurated the free distribution. Agriculture Minister K Atchennaidu, Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath were present.
The government is giving 25 kgs of rice, 1 kilo of sugar, red gram, cooking oil, two kilos of onions, and potato are given to each of the flood victims families. The government mobilized these essentials to Vijayawada from different parts of the state on the day.
They were assembled at the BRTS Road from where the vehicles carrying the essentials moved to Ajitsinghnagar, Payakapuram, Prakashnagar, Rajarajeswaripet and other areas. The chief minister flagged off the vehicles at the BRTS Road.
Speaking on the occasion, Nadendla Manohar said that the civil supplies department had mobilized the essentials to support the families of the flood victims. The essentials were mobilized from different parts of the state, the Minister said.
