TDP general secretary and Minister for IT, Human Resources, Nara Lokesh, on Tuesday alleged that former chief minister and YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy planned to destroy several villages in the flood water. He alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy had planned the scheme and the party MLC Talasila Raghuram and former MP, Nandigam Suresh, have executed.
Lokesh took to the social media on the day to charge Jagan Mohan Reddy of conspiracy in the floods. He blamed Jagan Mohan Reddy and the YSR Congress leaders for criticizing the state government. He said that the entire state machinery and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu were moving with the flood victims.
He further said that several ministers are in the flood water for seven days. The ministers and MLAs have toured the flood-affected areas in the past eight days, he said. The officials too were in the flood waters monitoring the relief work, he said.
Lokesh further said that chief minister Chandrababu Naidu was camping in the NTR district collectorate monitoring the relief works. Chandrababu Naidu also visited several flood-affected areas, he said. However, none of the YSR Congress leaders have visited the flood-hit areas, he alleged. He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had visited the flood-hit areas twice for an eye wash.
However, the YSR Congress leaders were criticizing the state government on the flood relief. He also blamed the YSR Congress leaders for trying to destroy Prakasam Barrage. He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had planned to cause damage to the gates of Prakasam Barrage. The YSR Congress leaders have left heavy boats in the river water, he said.
The boats have hit the gates of the barrage causing damage, he said. He further alleged that they wanted to cause damage to the gates and leave the flood water to the downstream marooning several areas. This would have left several people homeless along the river in the downstream of Prakasam Barrage, Lokesh said.
For Gods grace, the damage was minor and there was no threat to the people in the downstream, he said. He alleged that the police would investigate into the allegation and book cases against those who are behind this act.
