The Andhra Pradesh state government had started action on the police officers, who have allegedly booked cases against a Bollywood actress and harassed her. The government issued orders suspending former Vijayawada ACP Hanumantha Rao and Ibrahimpatnam Inspector M Satyanarayana.

The government is also said to be working on taking action against IPS officers and then intelligence wing chief P S R Sitaramanjaneyulu, then Vijayawada commissioner of police, Kanti Rana Tata and another senior IPS officer and then Vijayawada DCP Vishal Gunni. The state government is likely to take a decision in a day or two on this and issue orders accordingly, sources said.

Meanwhile, actress Kadambari Jethwani lodged a complaint with the Ibrahimpatnam police alleging that cases were filed against her in the last five years based on a forged document. She sought action against Sitaramanjaneyulu, Kanti Rana Tata, Vishal Gunni, and YSR Congress leader Kukkala Vidyasagar. She handed over the complaint to Ibrahimpatnam inspector Chandrasekhar.

She alleged that the police have made Vidyasagar to lodge a false complaint against her and took action accordingly. The police then arrested her and her parents in Mumbai, she said. She further alleged that the police behaved irresponsibly and harassed her for five days.

She said that her family was kept in the jail for 42 days though they did nothing wrong. She also alleged that the police used to interrogate her even in the midnight. She sought action against those police officers responsible for her arrest.

Ibrahimpatnam Inspector Chandrasekhar told media persons that he would take legal opinion and even consult senior officials on the complaint given by Jethwani.
