Writer Molla’s statue was inaugurated on Saturday at Thummalapalli Kshetrayya Kalakshetram in Vijayawada. Mysore Maharaja and MP Yadhuveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar inaugurated the statue.
Wadiyar congratulated the members of the Andhra Pradesh Kummara Salivahana Sangham leaders for establishing the statue of writer Molla. He said that Molla’s statue would be part of Vijayawada’s history in the days to come.
He said that Molla had written Ramayana in free style bringing the epic closer to the people. He further said that respecting Molla is a great thing that people of Vijayawada have done.
Minister Kollu Ravindra said that the government had honoured Molla by releasing a memorial stamp in her honour. He congratulated former MLC and Andhra Pradesh Kummara Salivahana Sangham president Ilapuram Venkaiah.
Ilapuram Venkaiah thanked everyone for participating in the programme and unveiling the statue of Molla.
