The Andhra Pradesh state government on Sunday suspended three IPS officers in Mumbai actress case. The government issued orders suspending the three IPS officers. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, also signed the papers suspending the three IPS officers.

According to the state government, IPS officers, PSR Anjaneyulu, Kanti Rana Tata and Vishal Gunni were suspended in the case. It was alleged that they played a key role in arresting the Mumbai actress and sending her family to the jail during 2019-2024.

The state government had already suspended ACP Hanumantha Rao and Ibrahimpatnam former Inspector, Satyanarayana in the case. The three IPS officers was the second case in the issue. The actress had already given a complaint to the Ibrahimpatnam police station.

The police are acting based on the information given by the actress. She alleged that the police acted at the behest of YSR Congress leaders. The police have also booked a case against YSR Congress leader Kukkala Vidyasagar.

She alleged that the police have made Vidyasagar to lodge a false complaint against her and took action accordingly. The police then arrested her and her parents in Mumbai, she said. She further alleged that the police behaved irresponsibly and harassed her for five days.

She said that her family was kept in the jail for 42 days though they did nothing wrong. She also alleged that the police used to interrogate her even in the midnight. She sought action against those police officers responsible for her arrest.

Ibrahimpatnam Inspector Chandrasekhar told media persons that he would take legal opinion and even consult senior officials on the complaint given by Jethwani.
