The state government is planning to take action against Stamps and Registration former IG, V Ramakrishna, for his corruption in the department. Ramakrishna had come from the Central service on deputation to the state during the YSR Congress government.

Ramakrishna’s deputation is completed and he is set to return to the Central service. In the meanwhile, the state government started work on taking action against him for his misdeeds.

It is alleged that Ramakrishna encouraged the YSR Congress leaders to grab lands and register them. It is also alleged that he changed the departmental rules to favour a software company to grab the tender. He paid Rs 30 crore to the software company, it was alleged.

He also changed rules and allowed the registration of assigned lands during the last five years. He resorted to several irregularities in the transfer of employees in the department.

Revenue Department special chief secretary R P Sisodia is said to have prepared a report on his irregularities in the last five years. The government is studying the report and planning to take action against Ramakrishna.

The government found the charges levelled against Ramakrishna as reliable and planning to take action against him. It is to be seen what steps the government would initiate against him.
