The management of the LG Polymers had agreed to give Rs 120 crore to the victims in Visakhapatnam. The plant had gas leakage in 2020 on May 7 in which 12 persons died and over 600 people were affected.
The management of the LG Polymers had now agreed to give this amount to the state government. They have also agreed to start LG Foundation with Rs 60 crore and take up drinking water supply and hospitals maintenance in Visakhapatnam.
The previous YSR Congress government had given Rs 1 crore to the bereaved families when the accident occurred. It had also supported those who were hospitalized when the accident occurred. The district administration had provided best medical treatment to the victims on those days.
Now, with the NDA government coming to power in the state, the representatives of the LG Polymers have meet Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and held talks. They have agreed to take up service activities in the area for the people, particularly providing drinking water to the people.
The chief minister had requested the LG Polymers to increase the compensation following which they have agreed.
The state government had booked several cases against the management, which would now be reconsidered once the LG Polymers increases the compensation.
