Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced the compensation package for the flood-hit families in Vijayawada and other places. He announced Rs 25,000 for the ground floor families and Rs 10,000 for the first floor families.
The chief minister also announced Rs 3,000 for the two wheelers, Rs 10,000 for the families outside Vijayawada. The chief minister also announced Rs 10,000 for the small vendors in the flood hit areas.
In Vijayawada families in 179 secretariats spread over 32 wards were inundated in the floods. They were in the flood water for nine days and have lost everything. The government is helping them by providing mechanics to take up repairs for TVs, refrigerators and other house hold things.
The chief minister said that those who are living in rented houses would get the compensation. The house owners might apply for insurance coverage, if they have, the chief minister said. Even the crop damage too would be given to the tenant farmers and not the land owners, the chief minister said.
The chief minister said that in all 2,72,272 families in the state were hit by floods. The government would go to the rescue of all these farmers, the chief minister said. The small vendors like hotels and provisions stores would get Rs 25,000, and autos would get Rs 10,000. The government would replace all pushcarts to the owners, the chief minister said.
The weavers families would get Rs 25,000 while fishing boats would get Rs 9,000 for the partial damage and Rs 25,000 for total damage. The fish tanks would get Rs 18,000 per hector, while sericulture would get Rs 25,000 per hector, the chief minister said.
Cows and buffalos would be paid Rs 50,000 while bulls to be paid Rs 40,000, the chief minister said. The government would pay Rs 7,500 for the goats and sheep that were lost in the floods, while the chicken would get Rs 100 per bird, the chief minister said.
