Former MLA from Jaggaiahpet in NTR district, Samineni Udaya Bhanu, quit the YSR Congress on Thursday. He sent the resignation to the party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said he was leaving the party because of the attitude and policies of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said he did not like the way Jagan Mohan Reddy was running the party.

Udaya Bhanu is scheduled to hold a meeting with his supporters in Jaggaiahpet on Friday. He had asked all his supporters to join the Jana Sena party along with him. He said he would work for the strengthening of the Jana Sena in the days to come.

Udaya Bhanu met deputy chief minister and Jana Sena president K Pawan Kalyan at the party office in Mangalagiri on the day. The two leaders held discussions for 30 minutes. He said that he would join the Jana Sena on September 22. He wanted all his supporters to join the party along with him.

The former MLA said that there was no future for the YSR Congress in the state. Leaders were leaving the party one after the other, he said. There would be no leader in the party in the next five years, he said. The YSR Congress would disappear from the political scene during these five years, he asserted.

Many leaders were waiting for their turn to take a call and leave the YSR Congress, Udaya Bhanu said. He further said that several leaders were in touch with him and all of them have said that they would leave the party. Only Jagan Mohan Reddy would remain with the YSR Congress, he said.

The leaders were vexed with the dictatorial attitude of Jagan Mohan Reddy, Udaya Bhanu said. He further alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy did not meet the party leaders, legislators and even Ministers when he was the chief minister. He further alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy did not listen to what the leaders said about the party position in their constituencies.
