Naidu holds meet with ministers, officials on Tirumala Laddu

Chief Miniter N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday held an emergency meeting with the ministers and officials at the Velagapuid secretariat. He directed the TTD executive officer Shyamala Rao to give a report to the state government about the ghee used for making of Laddus during the previous YSR Congress government.

Chandrababu Naidu held the meeting with Ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Nimmala Rama Naidu, Anagani Satya Prasad, Kollu Ravindra and Kolusu Pardha Saradhi, chief secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad at the secretariat. He discussed about the animal fat used in the ghee to make the laddus. He also spoke about the concerns that are being expressed from across the world.

He said that devotees from across the world were in agitating mood and expressing concern over the safety and security at the Tirumala. He said that people believe the deity and anything wrong at the temple will hit the religious sentiments of the people.

The chief minister said that the government would take serious action against those who were responsible for the use of animal fat in the ghee. He directed the TTD EO Shyamala Rao to give a detailed report to the state government by Friday evening.

Chandrababu Naidu said that he would consult the experts and also religious heads on the issue and take a decision. He said he would protect the religious sentiments of the people about Tirumala.

Meanwhile, Central Minister for Health, J P Nadda, called Chandrababu Naidu and enquired about the use of animal fat in the ghee for making laddus. He sought a report from the state government on the qulity of the ghee used for making laddus at Tirupati.
