Former MLA TJR Sudhakar Babu condemned the recent attack on a Dalit professor by a Jana Sena MLA in Kakinada, stating that there is no protection for Dalit officials in the state.
Speaking to the media at party central office here on Sunday, the former MLA criticized the TDP BJP Janasena coalition leaders for inciting violence and then pretending to apologize to cover up their actions. He demanded immediate legal action against the MLA responsible for the attack.
He expressed his disappointment over Pawan Kalyan’s silence on the issue, accusing him and Chandrababu Naidu of deceiving the public with false promises before elections and then resorting to threats when they couldn’t fulfill their promises.
He recalled past incidents where similar compromises were made to shield perpetrators, like the case of Chintamaneni Prabhakar, who had assaulted a Dalit officer. He pointed out how Jana Sena and TDP MLAs have been involved in numerous incidents of violence, harassment, and illegal activities since the alliance came to power.
He emphasized that Dalit officials are being harassed with unnecessary transfers and denied postings. He mentioned several instances where people were threatened, beaten, or harassed by alliance MLAs, stressing that such behavior is becoming common. He warned the opposition leaders that their arrogance will come at a cost and demanded justice for the victims of their actions.
