The Andhra Pradesh state government had decided to form a special investigation team (SIT) to look into the irregularities on Tirumala. The SIT would also probe into the allegations of adulteration of ghee supplied to the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD).
This was announced by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu after his meeting with TTD executive officer J Shyamala Rao and other officials in his Undavalli residence on Sunday. The SIT would be headed by a IG level or above level officer, the chief minister said.
He said that the government would restore the religious faith attached to the TTD and ensure that there are no breaches to the rules followed. He said that the government would give respect to every religion and its faith. It would not hurt the sentiments of the people attached to each of these religions, the chief minister said.
Chandrababu Naidu alleged that former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is not regretting the mistakes committed by his government. He alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy was targeting his government even after committing several mistakes. He took strong exception to Jagan Mohan Reddy writing a letter to prime minister Narendra Modi.
Chandrababu Naidu alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy was spreading lies on TTD laddu issue. He said that he was trying to mislead the devotees by levelling charges against the present government. He wondered how a contract given during the previous government is attached to the present government.
He asked Jagan Mohan Reddy to seek apology from the Hindu devotees. He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had no respect for the Hindus. He would do any harm to the Hindu devotees, Chandrababu Naidu said.
Chandrababu Naidu further told the media that he had directed the executive officer to revamp the TTD. He said that the temple priests and officials would conduct homams and santi pooja at the temple to protect the faith of the Hindus.
