Former MLA Anantha Venkat Rami Reddy slammed Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for leading a smear campaign against YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy by falsely blaming the party for various incidents across the state, including the recent Sri Rama chariot fire incident, in an attempt to damage Jagan’s political image.
Speaking to the media in Anantapur here on Wednesday, the former MLA highlighted the Sri Rama chariot fire incident in Hanakanahalli, Kanekal Mandal, Rayadurg constituency, stating that TDP is trying to gain political mileage by linking YSRCP to the incident, was caused by personal enmity. He condemned TDP for exploiting the tragedy for political gain.
He pointed out that TDP MLA Kalva Srinivasulu had visited the scene on the day of the fire and informed the media that the incident was unrelated to politics, even presenting video evidence. Officials, including the District Collector, had confirmed the fire was caused by personal disputes.
He further noted that those arrested included members of both YSRCP and TDP, along with neutral individuals. He criticized the district SP for altering the narrative after Naidu raised suspicions and warned that any further attempts to provoke unrest would not be tolerated.
