YSRCP Vijayawada City President Malladi Vishnu criticized former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for not safeguarding Hindu temples during his time in office. Vishnu pointed out that temples, which should be places of worship and peace, faced serious threats under Naidu’s leadership.
He referred to a recent incident in Hanakanahal, Rayadurg Constituency, Anantapur district, where a chariot of Sri Rama was set on fire. Vishnu also recalled a similar event in 2017, when a chariot from the historic Sri Gopalaswami Temple in West Godavari district was destroyed during Naidu’s rule. Vishnu questioned the safety of ordinary people, stating that if even temples are not safe, the situation is dire. He said that the TDP government is failing to protect Hindu religious sites and ignoring the concerns of devotees.
Vishnu also mentioned the Ramateertham incident, where Lord Rama’s idol was vandalized, and criticized those who were silent now despite their past outrage. He demanded swift action to catch the culprits behind the Anantapur incident and warned that the Hindu community would not forgive the government if they failed to act.
