The ruling TDP MLA from Tiruvuru SC reserved constituency, Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao, is in big trouble in his home constituency. He is accused of encouraging gambling, cockfights and other illegal activities in the constituency.

It was also alleged that he is sending obscene messages to the women employees in the constituency. He has targeted a woman Revenue Inspector to come as his secretary. It is alleged that he sends the obscene messages to the women in the party and government jobs.

He also locked in a controversy with the local media representatives. The media persons have come to Mangalagiri and lodged a complaint with party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. They listed the charges against the MLA and sought action against him.

It was said that Chandrababu Naidu had listened to the complaints from the media persons and promised to look into it. Sources say that Chandrababu Naidu had also summoned Srinivasa Rao to the party office at Mangalagiri and sought clarification on the charges levelled by the media persons.

On Monday evening, the MLA called for a meeting of his supporters and the TDP activists at Tiruvur and announced that he would go on indefinite fast. He turned tables at his rivals and charged them with targeting him. He also alleged that his rivals were working against him and spreading false information about him among the people.

He demanded enquiry into the charges against him and his rivals. He said he is ready to accept any punishment if he is found guilty and sought action against his rivals if they were found guilty. He also openly apologized to the media representatives for his remarks against them.

The public apology seems to have satisfied the media representatives and his own rivals. The issue is likely to be settled today and the MLA gave up his plans for indefinite fast at his camp office.
