Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to visit national capital on October 7. He is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and railway minister Aswini Vaishnav, besides some other ministers.

Chandrababu Naidu is likely to seek Central government support for Polavaram and Amaravati. The Central government had promised Rs 15,000 crore from the World Bank. The Central government would stand guarantee for the state government for the World Bank loan.

The chief minister would request the Prime Minister to speed up the process for the World Bank to release financial assistance. The state government wants to complete the Amaravati project in the next three years.

The state government is more serious on completing the Amaravati project in this term to ensure that it would be the permeant capital for the state and no government plans to shift the capital from here as the previous YSR Congress government did in the last five years.

Chandrababu Naidu had promised to the farmers of Amaravati that he would build the capital here and give them the fruits of development. Accordingly, he plans to complete the Amaravati project in this term.

The chief minister would also request the prime minister to support the state government to complete the Polavaram project. The project would require a new diaphragm wall as the earlier one constructed during the TDP regime was damaged for the 2020 floods. Besides completing the second diaphragm wall, the government also has to complete the project by December 2025.

Chandrababu Naidu is also likely to mount pressure on the Union Railway Minister to speed up the process of opening the new railway zone at Visakhapatnam. The state government had already given the required lands to the railways in Visakhapatnam to open the zonal offices. The railways too have taken over those lands and started the work.

Sources say that Chandrababu Naidu would also meet a handful of Central Ministers during his visit to the national capital. He would seek support from the Central government in various schemes.
