Prime Minister Narendra Modi would lay foundation stone for the new railway zone in Visakhapatnam in December this year. This was finalized during the visit of Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to the national capital on Monday. Naidu is visiting Delhi for two days.
Chandrababu Naidu closeted with the Prime Minister on Monday and held discussions over the starting of the new railway zone. The Central government had cleared the proposal for the new railway zone – South Coastal Railway (SCoR) as per the AP Reorganization Act 2014.
The chief minister also met Union Railway Minister Aswini Vaishnav in the national capital. They held discussions about starting the new railway zone for Andhra Pradesh. The zone had been pending for the past ten years.
The chief minister also requested the prime minister to release pending funds for the Polavaram project and Amaravati capital city. The chief minister told the prime minister that Andhra Pradesh is also preparing Vikasit Andhra 2047 document in line with the Vikasit Bharat 2047.
The state government plans to develop the state into a 2.4 trillion American dollars economy by 2047 and per capita income to 43,000 dollars, the chief minister told the prime minister. He sought the cooperation of the Central government to develop the state as per th e target.
Chandrababu Naidu also met Aswini Vaishnav at his camp office. He requested the union minister to start National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology in Andhra Pradesh. He requested the union minister to promote starting of IT and electronic industries in the state.
The chief minister also requested the prime minister and the railway minister to encourage starting of drone and electronic industries in Andhra Pradesh. He said that the government is working to develop the state to reduce poverty by 2034. He wanted the Central government support towards this end.
The chief minister requested the railway minister to start new line between Visakhapatnam and Amaravati and between Machilipatnam and Amaravati. He emphasized the need to connect Amaravati with the other cities. He told the Union railway minister to plan a new line between Hyderabad and Amaravati as well.
The chief minister thanked the Prime Minister for responding positively to all the requests of the state government. He said that the state would march towards development in the next five years with the support of the Central government.
