Palle Panduga from October 14 in AP, says Pawan Kalyan

Jana Sena chief and deputy chief minister K Pawan Kalyan announced that the villages across the state would organize Palle Panduga from October 14. The government would spend Rs 4,500 crore and start over 30,000 works in the state, he said.

He further said that the district collectors have cleared Rs 2,239 crore worth of 26,715 works in the state. The remaining works too would be cleared by the district collectors in the next two days, he said. He further added that the district collectors and other senior officials of the district would take part in the Palle Panduga.

The deputy chief minister held a video conference with the officials of the panchayat raj and rural development from his camp office on Tuesday. He told the district collectors to ensure that the gram panchayats hold the meetings in every village and start the developmental works.

He also told the district collectors to involve the local MLAs and MPs in the Palle Panduga. He wanted the officials to ensure that the works initiated now should be completed by Pongal. He said that the villages would celebrate Pongal this time.

Pawan Kalyan asked the officials to keep the display boards ready across the state on every work being executed. He wanted more transparency in the works in every village. He also told the officials to start Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS) in every village. He told them to ensure that Rs 300 is paid to every worker in the scheme.

In case any worker dies in the work place, the government should pay Rs 50,000 compensation to the worker, he said. The officials told the deputy chief minister that the present government had provided 466-man days to 1.07 lakh workers in the last 100 days of the present government. The workers have also planed 46,745 horticulture plants to the farmers.

The officials also told the deputy chief minister that they have paid Rs 2,081 crore arrears to the works which have been pending since May 20, this year. They have also congratulated the deputy chief minister for conducting grama sabhas in 13,326 villages across the state in one day on August 23 this year. This was a world record, they told the deputy chief minister.
