The Andhra Pradesh state police have sent two names to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Supreme Court to probe into the contamination of laddu in Tirumala. This was announced by DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao in Amaravati on Tuesday.
The DGP said that the Supreme Court wanted an independent inquiry into the allegation of laddu contamination. He further said that the Supreme Court did not express any doubts over the SIT constituted by the state government.
The DGP said that the state government had sent the names of Sarwa Srestha Tripati and Gopinadh Jetti for the SIT named by the Supreme Court. The CBI is yet to name its members for the SIT, he said. He expressed confidence that the CBI would soon name its representatives to the SIT.
The DGP said that the SIT would look into all these issues and tell the facts to the people. The supreme court would receive the SIT report and make it to the public, he said.
Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said that the CID is looking into the cases of attack on the TDP office at Mangalagir and attack on Chandrababu Naidu’s residence at Undavalli. He expressed confidence that the CID would look into these cases, besides some other cases.
