Former chief minister and YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday said that the ruling TDP leaders have lost their face to go to the people after four months in office. He said that the TDP leaders have made several promises during the election and have failed to implement even single promise in the last four months.
Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed a meeting of the party district unit presidents, party frontal organisations leaders and other senior leaders at the party central office in Tadepalli.
The former chief minister said that the TDP leaders have promised Rs 15,000 to children, Rs 18,000 to women, Rs 20,000 to farmers. But four months in office, they have completely failed to roll out even a single programme.
The YSR Congress government had given the schemes at the door step of the beneficiary while the TDP government had failed to give even a single scheme. The TDP leaders have forgotten their own promises to the people in the last four months, he said.
He wanted the rank and file of the party to work hard for the next five years. He wanted them to strengthen the party from the village level. He said that the party had a great opportunity to strengthen it from the grassroots.
Jagan Mohan Reddy wanted the party leaders to be with the people and give voice to them. He wanted them to expose the failures of the ruling TDP. He also told them to expose how this government had become a mute spectator to the violence taking place in the state.
The YSR Congress chief regretted that rapes have become order of the day these days. The government is not acting on any incident, he said. He alleged that law and order is given up and the state government had completely failed to protect it.
He further said that the government had also failed in the free sand and liquor policies. The sand price is now more than what the YSR Congress government gave, he said. He also said that the liquor is now given to the private people for business. The government withdrew from the liquor business and handed it over to the private people, he said. The private people would now make huge profits at the cost of the people, he said.
Jagan Mohan Reddy wanted the party leaders to work hard for the next five years and expose the TDP failures. He wanted the party leaders to reach out to the people and be in the midst of the people for the next five years.
