The Central Home Ministry had called for a meeting of the two Telugu states to discuss about the bifurcation issues on October 24 in New Delhi. The ministry had been holding such meetings for the past ten years.

The officials of the two states would attend the meeting. They would discuss about the bifurcation issues pending for implementation. There have been several issues that are to be settled between the two states even after ten years of bifurcation.

Hyderabad had now become the capital of Telangana, while Amaravati was declared as the capital of Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh state government is yet to build Amaravati. The state government plans to complete the construction of Amaravati in the next five years.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had started the work in Amaravati. He started the reconstruction of APCRDA building by performing a pooja along with Minister for Municipal Administration and urban Development Dr P Narayana.

The government has to complete the residential quarters of judges, MLAs, MLCs, Ministers, IAS and IPS officers, government employees, gazetted officers and Class IV employees. All these buildings are at the initial stage. They were laid the foundation and the work was stopped by the previous YSR Congress government in the last five years. This government is renewing the work to be completed in the next five years.

The institutions listed in the Schedule IX and X from the AP Reorganization Act 2014 are to be distributed between the two Telugu states. The institutions, their assets and liabilities are to be distributed between the two states on the population ratio.

Besides these, there are other issues like arrears to be paid by the two states to each other on the electricity charges. The claims of the two states on this account are to be settled by the Union Home Ministry.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy have recently met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and requested him to settle the issues at the earliest. Following this, the Union Home Ministry is holding the meeting.
