TDP Parliamentary Party leader Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and requested him to open the campus of National Forensic Science University in Andhra Pradesh. He gave a representation to the Union Home Minister in Delhi on Monday.

He requested Amit Shah to sanction the National Forensic Science University either in Visakhapatnam or in Amaravati. He said that the National Forensic Science University is now expanding its footprints across the country by setting up campuses in various states. It is only fitting that Andhra Pradesh also becomes home to such a prestigious institution, he said.

He further said that unfortunately Andhra Pradesh having faced significant setbacks due to the unscientific bifurcation in 2014, has been deprived of several central universities and institutions.

Visakhapatnam, one of the prime cities in India with its cosmopolitan nature and well-developed infrastructure exceptionally suited to host the National Forensic Science University or its campus. The city’s strategic location, its industrial development and its connectivity make it an ideal location to house this reputed institution, he said.

Furthermore, the state government is equally committed to developing Amaravati as people’s capital, he said. Amaravati, being centrally located with ample land availability, and its proximity to Vijayawada another major city, also presents itself as an equally deserving candidate for the campus of the National Forensic Science University, he said.

Given the potential of both Visakhapatnam and Amaravati, he requested the Union Home Minister to sanction the National Forensic Science University either for Visakhapatnam or for Amaravati. He said that this would not only strengthen the forensic capabilities of Andhra Pradesh, but also further enhance educational opportunities development in the region.
