YSRCP leaders expressed deep grief over the tragic demise of Sahana, who succumbed to injuries following a brutal attack. They extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
Speaking to the media outside GGH, Guntur, Merugu Nagarjuna emphasized the government’s failure in handling Sahana’s case properly. He criticized the absence of the responsible minister and pointed out the government’s inadequate response. Nagarjuna also highlighted the vulnerability women face without the Disha App, stating, “Women remain unprotected in the current government’s tenure.” He noted that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had responded swiftly and is scheduled to visit Sahana’s family tomorrow to offer his condolences personally.
Former Minister Vidadala Rajini, also addressing the media, said that since the coalition government came to power, the safety of women has deteriorated. She described Sahana’s case as a clear example of this growing insecurity. Rajini reminded that it was former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who introduced laws like the Disha Act, which are essential for women’s protection. “The fear of women’s safety has intensified under this government. Immediate action must be taken to ensure justice,” she added.
