YSR Congress Parliamentary Party leader and Rajya Sabha member V Vijayasai Reddy said that the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh had failed to convince the Central government to stop privatization of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. He said that the NDA leadership in the state is misleading people on the steel plant issue.
Speaking to media in Visakhapatnam, Vijayasai Reddy, who is also YSR Congress inchrage for north Andhra region, said that the YSR Congress would do everything to stop privatization of the steel plant. He said that the party would represent the issue with the Central government and lobby against privatization.
The MP said that the party is also ready for the fast to stop privatization of the steel plant. The party leaders are ready to sacrifice their lives to protect the steel plant, he said. The party would also lead a delegation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, steel minister J D Kumara Swamy and represent the issue.
Vijayasai Reddy said that the NDA government had failed on all fronts in the last 100 days in the state. People have started regretting to have elected the NDA government in the state. The NDA had failed to roll out the Super Six promises made to the people at the time of elections, he said.
People were waiting for the government to roll out welfare schemes. The Amma Vodi, Rythu Nestham schemes were not implemented in this year. The fee reimbursement scheme too was ignored. The Arogya Sri scheme was completely ignored, he said.
He blamed chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and deputy chief minister K Pawan Kalyan for the failure of the government. He said that the two leaders have mislead the people during the elections. He also alleged that they were also misleading the people and the employees of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on its privatization.
The YSR Congress would expose the failures of the NDA government in the state, Vijayasai Reddy said. He called upon the people to start mounting pressure on the government to implement all its promises made at the time of elections. He said that the YSR Congress would stand by them in their fight against the government.
Vijayasai Reddy blamed the government for the diarrhea deaths in Vizianagaram district. He said that the government had failed to provide safe drinking water to the people. He took strong exception to deputy chief minister blaming the previous government for the deaths occurred now. He wondered how would they blame the YSR Congress government for the failures of the NDA government.
Vijayasai Reddy said that former chief minister and YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would visit the families of the diarrhea in Vizianagaram. The former chief minister would console the families and fight for the compensation to be given to them by the government.
