Asserting that the ongoing controversy surrounding the assets is an attempt by Sharmila, under the influence of Chandrababu Naidu, to undermine her brother YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, YV Subba Reddy clarified that the companies in question were solely owned by Jagan Mohan Reddy, and Sharmila was never a shareholder.
Speaking to the media at the party central office, He explained that these companies were established during the tenure of YS Rajasekhara Reddy, who did not designate Sharmila as a shareholder. The recent legal action taken by Jagan at the NCLT was only to maintain the High Court’s status quo order and not for reclaiming assets.
He said Jagan’s MOU from 2019 specified that he intended to share some of his self-acquired assets with Sharmila out of affection, which Sharmila and Vijayamma signed.
Former Minister Perni Nani questioned why, if Sharmila were indeed a shareholder, she wasn’t implicated in cases filed against Jagan. He emphasized that any financial assistance Jagan gave Sharmila came from personal affection, not as dividends.
Nani also raised concerns about Sharmila’s actions, questioning her alignment with TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu and her deviation from her father’s principles. He acknowledged Sharmila’s contribution to the party, specifically her 230-day walk in 2012, but highlighted that the primary credit for YSRCP’s growth rests with Jagan and dedicated party workers.
Nani concluded by affirming Jagan’s integrity and commitment to his promises, emphasizing that he endured significant hardships without compromising his values. He questioned the believability of Sharmila’s current stance, suggesting it may not reflect the values set forth by Rajasekhara Reddy.
