Former MLA and YSRCP SC Cell President TJR Sudhakar Babu stated that while they once respected Sharmila as the daughter of YSR and sister of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, her recent actions, including cooperating with political opponents and media critical of the YSRCP, have led them to now view her as a political adversary.

Speaking to the media in Ongole, the former MLA expressed severe disappointment, saying that her recent comments about Jagan were disrespectful and showed a lack of regard for her father’s legacy. Sudhakar Babu emphasized that if she continued to oppose Jagan, they would not remain silent but would firmly stand against her actions.

He further noted that while Jagan has upheld YSR’s ideals, Sharmila’s involvement with the Congress party—who once jailed Jagan—goes against YSR’s legacy. He suggested that her actions appear driven by a personal desire to weaken Jagan’s position for her own benefit.

Sudhakar Babu added that this issue is not only a political disagreement but also about respecting the values of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. He highlighted that Jagan remains a source of hope for many people, and any attempts to undermine him would be strongly resisted by the YSRCP.

Speaking at a separate press conference, YSRCP State Women’s President and MLC Varudu Kalyani criticized PCC President Sharmila, saying she has become a puppet of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Kalyani expressed disappointment over Sharmila joining Chandrababu and TDP leaders in spreading false propaganda against Jagan Mohan Reddy. She pointed out that, as YSR’s daughter and Jagan’s sister, Sharmila once held respect among YSRCP members and the people of Andhra Pradesh, but her recent actions have tarnished that respect.

Kalyani stated that Sharmila’s alignment with Chandrababu, a known adversary of the YSR family, is deeply unfortunate. She emphasized that no woman in the state believes Sharmila’s accusations against Jagan, who has worked to uplift women both socially and economically. Kalyani also dismissed Sharmila’s claim of strengthening YSRCP, noting that the party won with a large majority in 2019 due to people’s faith in Jagan. She urged Sharmila to break away from Chandrababu’s influence and stop making baseless allegations against her brother.
