Andhra Pradesh Minister for Housing and Information and Public Relations, Kolusu Pardha Saradhi on Monday blamed former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for the electricity charges hike. He said that the decisions taken by Jagan Mohan Reddy government between 2019 and 2024 had forced this government to increase the power tariff.
The Minister said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had increased the power tariff nine times in his five years rule. Jagan Mohan Reddy caused heavy burden on the people, particularly the power consumers, he said. He blamed Jagan Mohan Reddy for the increase in the power tariff.
He said that the Electricity Regulartory Commission had proposed the hike in the power tariff. The true up charges were the result of the APERC recommendations, the Ministers said. He alleged that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government remained silent when the APERC recommended hike in the power tariff in the form of true up charges.
He found fault with Jagan Mohan Reddy for blaming the NDA government for the power tariff. He took strong exception to Jagan Mohan Reddy posting in the social media criticizing the government on the power tariff hike.
