Reiterating that the Opposition has the right to question the misdeeds of the government, YSR Congress has warned that the government would be made accountable for its dictatorial attitude by harassing the social media activists.

Speaking to media on Wednesday, Party spokesperson Jupudi Prabhakar Rao said we have the right to criticise and social media is an avenue to vent the people’s views on the governance. If the government wishes to gag the social media by terrorising the activists we will come back with more vigour.

Police got its own limitations and over 100 arrests were made for bringing to the public notice through social media posts. This shows that police are working under pressure.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan had already expressed his anger. It was not intended on the home minister but must be towards the Chief Minister who was engaged in pothole filling programme which is the Panchayat Raj Department work.

He spoke about the failure of law and order, though he is part of the government and he may be he could spring many surprises in the days to come, he said in a sarcastic tone.

In Nandigama constituency police harassment has been severe without following the rule of law and cases were booked against 170 people who were members of a WhatsApp group besides harassing the group admin.

This is a draconian rule by the NDA coalition and social media activists of Tiruvuru, Chilakuripeta and other places were also been targeted by TDP for pointed the failure of the government

Meanwhile, Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy of the Party legal Cell has assured the social media activists that the word of the Party is to be with the activists at all times and will fight it out legally. Police have no right to detain people illegally and any deviation of law will be dealt with accordingly.

He was addressing the people of Pendyala village of Kanchikacherla mandal in Nandigama constituency where the victims had narrated their woes and how police have been harassing them with the sole reason for being activists of YSRCP.

They said that they were being called to the police station and being harassed constantly. In the region, the statue of YSR was broken at two places and no action was taken against the culprits, they said.
