YSR Congress has slammed Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for his remarks on volunteer system and said that he has been falling in the trap of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu time and again. Speaking to media at the Party Central Office on Friday, State SC Cell President and former MLA TJR Sudhakar Babu said, the volunteer system was established by the YSRCP government and paid them till June 2024. During elections NDA has promised to double the honorarium of volunteers but has gone back on its promise.
We demand that the government to tender an apology to volunteers for the remarks and immediately pay the enhanced amount of Rs 10,000 as promised in the elections. Pawan Kalyan should have done his homework properly before speaking about volunteers as their appointment was done through GOs. Without any verification he was speaking as if the system has no sanctity or proper authorization, he said and read out the GO numbers.
The election promise was not kept on one hand and now questions were raised about the voluntary system itself which shows double standards of the government. Volunteers have relentlessly worked during the pandemic and Pawan Kalyan and TDP had passed derogatory remarks against them.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been provoking his deputy to rake up controversies to divert the attention of the people to cover up their administrative failures and deterioration of law-and-order situation in the State.
It was Tirupati laddu once, Sanathana Dharma, Saraswathi Cements and Industries or volunteer’s issue, Pawan Kalyan has been willingly falling into the trap of Chandrababu Naidu, he said.
