Raghurama to be deputy speaker of AP Assembly

Ruling TDP MLA from Undi in West Godavari district, K Raghurama Krishnam Raju, is all set to be the deputy speaker of Andhra Pradesh assembly. His name was cleared by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu during the current session of the Assembly.

Chandrababu Naidu had made Chinthakayala Ayyanna Pathrudu as the speaker of the Assembly. Both Ayyanna Pathrudu and Raghurama Krishnam Raju have been the strong critics of former chief minister and YSR Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. It was Chandrababu Naidu’s strategy to control Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Assembly. He wantedly named both Ayyanna Pathrudu and Raghurama Krishnam Raju for the key posts.

Raghurama Krishnam Raju joined the active politics in 2019. He joined the YSR Congress and won the elections from the Narasapuram Lok Sabha constituency in the election. Soon after the election, he turned against the party and its chief Jagan Mohan Reddy. He spoke about Jagan Mohan Reddy criticizing his government for the past five years.

Raghurama Krishnam Raju also filed cases in the Telangana high court and Supreme Court on Jagan Mohan Reddy’s cases. He wanted the Jagan Mohan Reddy case to be shifted from Telangana CBI court. His petitions are still pending in the courts.

He also filed a case against Jagan Mohan Reddy and other police officers in the incident where he was arrested by the CID officials. He alleged that the police have tortured him in their custody and wanted action against the Jagan Mohan Reddy and other police officials. The case is pending in the Guntur police station.
