Former Minister Vidadala Rajini flayed the coalition government for watering down Aarogyasri, neglecting ambulance services and construction of medical colleges besides leveling false allegations against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

Speaking to media on Tuesday, she said the Health Minister has been spreading a false notion about the health sector during our government as they want to pursue the policy of privatisation.

While Jagan Mohan Reddy has planned 17 medical colleges in three phases and completed five in first phase which gave 750 seats to medical students by 2024 and started works for five colleges in the second phase, the coalition government failed to take forward the initiative only to benefit private players.

The vindictive nature of Chandrababu Naidu came to the fore, when government singled out YSR Medical College in Pulivendula and wrote to the National Medical Council not to allot seats to the college as infrastructure was not in place.

Majority of the work was complete by January and this government did not take the works forward, but had stalled progress of the medical college. The emergency ambulance services of 104 and 108 were watered down and the Family Doctor scheme is being ignored, she said

The coalition government is trying to create a scenario that nothing was done during the previous government while development was tangible.

The allegations are only to cover up their failures, she said and demanded that works on medical colleges should completed and health schemes like Aarogyasri should be strengthened.
