YSR Congress delegation consisting of Tirupati district YSRCP president Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, Tirupati MP M Gurumoorthy, former ministers K Narayanaswamy and R K Roja and Chandragiri YSRCP in-charge Chevireddy Mohith Reddy filed a complaint at the Tirupati East Police Station against the defamatory and false social media posts being circulated by TDP leaders.
Speaking to the media after meeting the police, YSRCP leaders said that TDP’s IT wing, iTDP, was systematically targeting YSRCP leaders, women activists, and even family members of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy with obscene and malicious posts. They demanded immediate action against the culprits and assured legal support for the party’s social media activists.
Tirupati district YSRCP president Bhumana Karunakar Reddy slammed the TDP IT wing of creating fake IDs in the names of YSRCP sympathizers to post defamatory content. He criticized the police for their reluctance to register cases and questioned the fairness of the system when complaints from prominent leaders such as an MP, former ministers, and senior party leaders were being ignored. He stated that such actions would not deter YSRCP’s fight for justice and accountability.
Tirupati MP M Gurumoorthy expressed deep dissatisfaction with the police for delaying their complaint process. He stated that despite their legitimate concerns, the police made them wait for hours before registering the complaint. Gurumoorthy warned that ignoring established protocols and showing partiality to political alliances could lead the YSRCP to move a privilege motion. He called on the authorities to protect constitutional rights and stop suppressing dissenting voices in the state.
Former Deputy Chief Minister K. Narayanaswamy criticized the police for their inaction despite the offensive nature of the posts. He slammed the TDP government for undermining democratic principles in Andhra Pradesh and likened the current leadership of Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan to dictatorial regimes. Narayanaswamy assured that YSRCP leaders and activists would not bow to intimidation.
Former minister R.K. Roja strongly condemned the derogatory social media posts targeting YSRCP leaders, especially women leaders and the family of Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. She criticized the police for hesitating to register the complaint and reminded them of their constitutional duty to serve justice. Roja pointed out past instances of TDP’s use of fake IDs to spread malicious propaganda and called it a continuation of their tactic to harass and intimidate political opponents.
