Former Minister Gudivada Amarnath condemned the false propaganda being meted out by the coalition government and its friendly media on YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking to media, Amarnath said this has been the practise ever since Jagan Mohan Reddy has started the Party and the vicious campaign to malign his image continues by levelling false allegations.
Despite our leader giving a blow-by-blow account on the power sale agreement with SECI, the vested interests have been still persistently continuing its false propaganda. We have clarified that the agreement was between SECI and State Government the role of individuals does not arise.
Still they have been repeating the same allegations and this sort of mudslinging has been continuing for the past 15 years. The power sale agreement was done only after discussing the issue in the cabinet after following the procedure. A committee was formed to look into the agreement which studied it for 45 days and made its recommendations before signing the final deal.
How the vested interests can call SECI a broker for Central government, he asked. The so called visionary Chandrababu had purchased power at Rs 5 per unit while our government had bought it for Rs 2.49. This shows under whose governance was wealth created.
If Adani meets Jagan Mohan Reddy they have been attributing motives but when the same industrialist meets Chandrababu Naidu a different colour has been given. Many states have entered into an agreement with SECI and the cheapest was that of Andhra Pradesh, he reiterated.
Chandrababu Naidu has burdened the state with Rs 86,000 crore while Jagan Mohan Reddy has saved over Rs 1.10 lakh crores, he said. While Chandrababu has gone back on his election promise of Rs reducing power charges, he has burdened the people with Rs 20,000 crore and we will take up the issue, he said.
