Former Minister and YSR Congress leader, K Kannababu rebutted the reports Kakinada SEZ and said it was Chandrababu Naidu who went against the farmers interests while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had returned the lands to the agitating farmers.
Speaking to media, Kasnnababu said, farmers were agitating against the forceful land acquisition in Kakinada SEZ and Chandrababu Naidu had tried to put down the movement using brute police force.
Chandrababu, who told farmers that he would be with them before elections, after coming to power had made every effort to put down the agitation with a heavy hand. He had arrested leaders of the Struggle Committee and tried to fasten the land acquisition process.
Jagan Mohan Reddy during his padayatra gave a patient ear to the plight of farmers and after assuming office had formed a committee to study the issue and based on their recommendations had returned the land to farmers who were not willing to part with their land.
Once returned it is their wish to retain or to sell the land and false reports are being circulated that Kanna Babu Committee has done injustice to the farmers. It was Chandrababu Naidu who tried to acquire land with force, while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had returned the land to farmers who refuse to give it to SEZ, he said.
On rice smuggling, he said the coalition is confusing between the deep sea port and anchorage port and the activity going on there. There are over 15,000 work force depended on the port and its allied field of works.
False propaganda is going on in the Port issue as well, he said.
