Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has slammed Chandrababu Naidu for betraying the people by failing to deliver on key promises made during the elections. In a scathing post on X, Jagan outlined multiple instances of deception, highlighting the TDP’s disregard for its manifesto and its negative impact on women, children, farmers, and the broader public.
Jagan criticized the TDP for its failure to implement the Thalliki Vandanam scheme, which promised Rs.15,000 annually per child. Despite multiple cabinet meetings, there has been no clarity on when it will be launched, with the TDP now deferring it to next year. Jagan contrasted this with his government’s highly successful “Amma Vodi” scheme, which disbursed Rs. 26,067 crore to 44.48 lakh mothers and 84 lakh children, ensuring education for the underprivileged. He condemned the TDP’s abandonment of the programme which is betraying trust of mothers and school-going children.
On the “Rythu Bharosa”, Jagan pointed out that the TDP had promised Rs. 20,000 annually to farmers as input support but is yet to disburse a single rupee despite the completion of both Kharif and Rabi seasons. In contrast, during our tenure, Rs. 13,500 was regularly provided to over 53.58 lakh farmers each year, totaling Rs.34,378 crore. He said TDP is neglecting farmers by canceling free crop insurance, weakening Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs), and failing to ensure MSP. He further criticized the government for its lack of support for families of farmers who have committed suicide due to financial distress.
Jagan asserted that TDP’s governance has been plagued by scams and exploitative policies, citing unfulfilled promises like Rs. 18,000 for women above 18 years, Rs. 36,000 in unemployment benefits, and Rs. 48,000 for women above 50 years. He criticized TDP of increasing charges across sectors, indulging in scams related to sand and liquor, and failing to provide relief to the people.
In his post. Jagan also highlighted the illtreatment of volunteers who worked tirelessly to serve communities as TDP sidelined them undermining their contributions. He underscored the growing public dissatisfaction with TDP’s actions, as each unfulfilled promise deepens the grievances of the people.
Jagan reaffirmed the YSR Congress Party’s commitment to standing by the people, advocating for their rights, and ensuring that promises made during elections are honored with integrity. He asserted that the YSRCP would continue to be the voice of the people, holding the TDP accountable for its failures.
