Naidu to visit Delhi for two days

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu would begin his two-day visit to the national capital, Delhi, on Monday. He would leave Amaravati to Delhi in the morning. He is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the evening.

Chandrababu Naidu would discuss Polavaram, Amaravati and floods to Vijayawada city with the Prime Minister. The two leaders would discuss about the funds to be given to Andhra Pradesh from the Central government. They would also discuss about the World Bank financial assistance to complete Amaravati project.

The World Bank had promised to give Rs 15,000 crore aid to the state government for Amaravati project. The Central government stands guarantee for this loan. The loan would help the state government to complete the Amaravati project.

The chief minister would also discuss about the railway zone at Visakhapatnam and merger of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in the Steel Authority of India. There is widespread resistance for the proposal to disinvestment in the steel plant by the Central government. The employees are on protest for the past five years with the Central government proposing to privatise the steel plant.

The chief minister would also discuss about the recent floods that have inundated Vijayawada city. The state government had sent a report to the Central government seeking financial assistance for the flood damage. The chief minister is expected to raise the issue with the prime minister and get funds.

The chief minister would also meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah, finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman and national highways minister Nitin Gadkari during his visit to the Delhi. He is likely to discuss about the financial assistance to the state with the finance minister.

Chandrababu Naidu is also likely to discuss about the national highway projects in the state with Nitin Gadkari. The state government had proposed several state highways to be converted into the national highways.
