Former Minister Kurasala Kannababu launched a scathing attack on Chandrababu Naidu, stating that Naidu has been turning every state crisis into an opportunity for corruption and personal profit.
Speaking at a press meet in Kakinada, he stated that Naidu’s claims of creating wealth from crises were false and that corruption was rampant across the state under his leadership. Kannababu highlighted that syndicates and mafias were controlling the liquor and sand businesses, leading to widespread looting.
The former minister questioned the use of large donations collected from corporations and banks during crises, demanding transparency on where and how these funds were spent. He ridiculed the government’s statement of spending Rs 23 crore on items like matchboxes and candles, calling it absurd.
Kannababu also expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, citing recent incidents such as a TDP leader being involved in the assault of a minor girl in Peddapuram and a police officer’s mother being kidnapped and murdered in Dharmavaram. He questioned the safety of ordinary citizens when even police families were not secure, suggesting that these incidents reflected the poor state of law and order in Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to the media at a separate press conference in Rajamahendravaram, YSRCP spokesperson and former MP Margani Bharat strongly criticized the ruling coalition leaders stating that they were looting public wealth without concern for the people. He stated that income from liquor and sand is being funneled into the pockets of coalition leaders, while basic necessities are becoming more expensive.
