An advocate filed a petition against Jana Sena chief and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister K Pawan Kalyan on Monday. Advocate, Immaneni Rama Rao filed the petition in the city civil courts.

The advocate alleged that Pawan Kalyan made derogatory statement against Tirupati laddu. He alleged that Pawan Kalyan had said that animal fat was mixed in the Tirupati laddu, without verifying the facts. He wanted to know from where the deputy chief minister got that information that animal fat was mixed with the laddu.

He said that Pawan Kalyan had hurt the sentiments of lakhs of devotees who worship Lord Venkateswara. He further said that Pawan Kalyan did not have any authentic information about the laddu contamination. He asked the court to get the facts from the deputy chief minister to prove his statement that animal fat was mixed with laddu.

The advocate also wanted the court to direct Pawan Kalyan to delete the videos in the internet, which are related to Tirupati laddu and his comments on laddu contamination. He said that Supreme Court had also raised objections about Pawan Kalyan’s statements on laddu contamination.

The advocate said that the Supreme Court had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on the issue. The SIT will investigate into the charges levelled against the previous YSR Congress government’s decision on Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) and the contamination of laddu, he said.

The city civil court would hear the petition on Tuesday.
