YSRCP Women’s wing President Varudu Kalyani expressed concerns over the negligence of the state government in ensuring the safety and protection of women and girls.

Speaking to the media in Visakapatnam, she pointed out that despite a rise in heinous crimes such as rapes and murders across various districts, the government has failed to take adequate steps to address these issues. Kalyani highlighted that the police, instead of safeguarding law and order, are being used for political purposes. She also referred to a recent incident where a CI’s mother was killed, raising questions about the overall safety in the state.

She strongly condemned the kidnapping and attempted murder of an intermediate student in YSR District and demanded immediate action. Kalyani further questioned the government’s commitment to tackling the drug problem and criticized the silence of local leaders, including MLA Balakrishna and Home Minister Anitha, regarding the Hindupur rape case involving a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. She stressed that if the government had taken swift action, such incidents could have been prevented.
