YSR Congress president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced the name of senior leader and former MLA Shambangi Venkata Chinna Appalanaidu as Party MLC candidate for local bodies in Vizianagaram district. This decision was made after a meeting with party leaders from Vizianagaram.
Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that Appalanaidu was chosen based on unanimous support from party leaders, representing the Velama community as part of YSRCP’s inclusive approach. In the previous Visakhapatnam MLC elections, the Party opted Botsa Satyanarayana, who hails from Turpu Kapu community. Hence, this time, leaders endorsed Appalanaidu’s candidacy who represents Velama community.
He highlighted Appalanaidu’s dedication to public service, with over forty years in politics and four terms as MLA for Bobbili. He also served as Pro-tem Speaker in 2019, showing his leadership skills. YSRCP believes his reputation and commitment will help secure the Vizianagaram MLC seat.
With a strong base in Vizianagaram, where 592 out of 753 local body representatives are from YSRCP, Jagan urged party members to work with renewed energy to secure this MLC seat, strengthening Party base in the district. MLC candidate
