The Telangana state government had issued orders appointing senior Congress leader M Kodanda Reddy as chairman of the commission. Kodanda Reddy is former minister and currently working as vice-president of the Kisan Congress at the national level.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy made these appointments after consultations with the party senior leaders and his cabinet colleagues. Revanth Reddy took almost seven months to constitute the Agriculture Commission.
The Telangana state government also constituted Education Commission and the BC Commission. The government appointed retired IAS officer Akunuri Murali as chairman for the education commission. The government also appointed senior Congress leader Niranjan as chairman of the BC Commission.
Senior Congress leaders Rapolu Jayaprakash, Tirumalagiri Surender and Bala Lakshmi as members of the commission. BC Welfare Department secretary would be the member-secretary of the BC Commission.
In the Agriculture Commission, the government is yet to appoint members. The orders are likely to come in a month.
