Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu patted the good work done by Minister for Irrigation Nimmala Rama Naidu. He patted on the back of Rama Naidu stating that the minister had done good job.

The minister spent six days on the Budameru buds filling the breaches. There were 10 breaches to the Budameru bund and all the breaches were filled by Saturday evening. The chief minister held a review meeting with the officials of the irrigation department at the NTR district collectorate.

The chief minister said that Rama Naidu and the officials have done a good job in filling the breaches. He also congratulated the contractors who worked on filling the breaches. He said that the hard work by the minister and the officials would be remembered forever.

He told the officials to increase the height of the bunds on both sides. He wanted the officials to start further strengthening the bunds of Budameru once the water receded. He wanted a permanent solution to the Budameru floods.

The chief minister also alerted the officials on increasing water levels in Pulivagu, which merges with Budameru. He said that flood level in Budameru is likely to increase in the next two days. There were rains in Khammam district of Telangana from where Budameru starts flowing. He wanted the officials to keep an eye on the flood water coming from Telangana.

The chief minister wanted the officials to watch the flow in the rivulet and its tributaries all along the route. About five tributaries join Budameru in Tiruvuru, Mylavaram, and G Konduru mandals in the NTR district. Besides the surplus water from the paddy fields would also join Budameru.
