Deputy chief minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan said that the present government would take action against those who were responsible for adulteration of Tirupati Laddu and Prasadam. He said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had alleged that Tirupati Laddu was made with adulterated ghree and not cow ghee.
The deputy chief minister alleged that the YSR Congress government and the TTD Board members during 2019 and 2024 were responsible for the adulteration of the Laddu. He said that lakhs of devotees visit the temple every day and wondered how the TTD board members allowed adulteration.
He cited the report of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) which found some foreign fats in the ghee. The NDDB further said that the ghee used for the preparation of Laddu was adulterated and several foreign fats were found in the ghee.
He said that devotees were shocked to learn about the use of foreign fats in the cow ghee for the preparation of Laddus. He said that the present government would order enqury into the allegation and punish the persons responsible for it.
Meanwhile, TTD former priest Ramana Deekshitulu also alleged that the cow ghee was adulterated during the last five years. He said he had raised the issue in the last five years but no one had supported him. He thanked chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for raising the issue. He expressed confidence that the present government would take legal action against those responsible for adulteration of the cow ghee.
