Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday alleged that former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was spreading lies about the government work in handling the current floods. He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy was also throwing mud on the government.

Chandrababu Naidu toured in the flood-hit areas on the day. He visited the Kabela Centre and interacted with the flood victims. He enquired about the relief works being carried out by the government. The government had started distributing essentials to every family from Sunday.

The government had also started cleaning the roads and houses using the fire services vehicles. He asked the people whether the officials have visited them or not. He also enquired about the government services launched in the flood-hit areas.

Chandrababu Naidu said that he and his cabinet colleagues have been in the floods for the past eight days. They were moving in the flood waters and staying with the people, he said. The government is in difficulties with Jagan Mohan Reddy borrowing over Rs 10.5 lakh crore in the last five years.

He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy destroyed every institution in the state in the last five years. He further said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had destroyed the state economy. There was no money left with the government, he said.

The government was now trying to help every section of the people. It would take time for the government to address every need of the people, he said. He wanted the people to cooperate with the government until it settles down.

  1. The current government failed miserably in handling the floods and the flood victims. The whole government should be ashamed of it instead of coming up with lame excuses as always.
