The Andhra Pradesh state government is planning to give compensation to the houses which were flooded by Budameru rivulet. According to the sources, the state government is planning to give Rs 25,000 to the houses that were totally marooned and Rs 10,000 to partially marooned houses.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who left the NTR district collectorate after staying here for 10 days held a meeting with the officials on paying compensation to the flood victims. The chief minister suggested this package to the officials and asked them to work out the possibilities.

The chief minister also suggested to pay Rs 3,000 for the repair of two wheelers, and Rs 10,000 for the repair of autos and cars in the floods. The state government had already arranged insurance companies to open a camp in the NTR district sub-collectorate to take the insurance claims. People are visiting the camp and giving their vehicles to the insurance companies.

The state government had requested the insurance companies to relax their rules and give insurance coverage to the vehicles that were inundated in the flood water. Several vehicles were completely marooned in the flood water and remained in the water for ten days. There is a possibility of the vehicle engines getting water and damaged.

The state government is also considering paying compensation to the small venders in the flood area. Several shops and small business establishments were submerged in the flood waters. The vendors have lost their investment due to floods. The government is also working on this factor to help the vendors.

The chief minister had directed the state finance department to work out strategy to pay this compensation to the victims. A report is likely to be ready in a week, on which the chief minister would take a call.
