The Central government on Wednesday cleared the seven projects of national highways in Andhra Pradesh. The seven projects were proposed by former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy between 2019 and 2024. The seven projects were approved last year but were financially not cleared. This time the Central government had given green signal for release of funds.
The seven projects would cost Rs 6,280 crore covering 384 kilometers in the state. All the seven projects would now start at the same time. Two contractors have gained these projects and they would start the work shortly, the Central government said.
National Highway No 167AG, will be extended for 49.91 kilometers at a cost of Rs 881.61 crore. It would be made a four-lane road.
The national highway no 167k would be expanded from Sangameswaram to Nallakalva and Veligonda to Nandyala for 62.57 kilometers at a cost of Rs 601 crore.
The National highway 167k, from Nandyala to Kurnool to Kadapa boarder would be developed at Rs 691 crore. This would cover 62 kilometers.
In the national highway 440, the road from Vempalli to Chagalamarri would be developed at a cost of Rs 1321 crore. This would have two lane and four lane road for 78.95 kilometers
The national highway 716G would also be developed at Rs 808 crore for 78.95 kilometers. The national highway 716G would also be developed at Rs 808 crore for 33.58 kilometers. This would come between Muddanuru and Hindupur town.
The same road would also be extended from Muddanuru to B Kothapalli section at a cost of Rs 1,019.97 crore for 56.5 kilometers.
Similarly, the NH 516B from Pendurti to S Kota would be developed for 40.5 kilometers at a cost of Rs 956.21 crore.
