Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is the richest chief minister in the country. His family owns properties worth Rs 931 crore. The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) had released the list of the chief ministers in the country and their properties on Monday in New Delhi.
Chandrababu Naidu, a fourth-time chief minister of Andhra Pradesh owns Rs 36 crore worth of properties, while his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari owns properties worth Rs 895 crore. She runs the family’s Heritage business, while Chandrababu Naidu is into full time politics. The family also has debts worth Rs 10 crore.
Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu stands second richest chief minister in the country after Chandrababu Naidu. Khandu owns properties worth Rs 332 crore. However, he is also among the top chief ministers in debts. Khandu has debt worth Rs 180 crore.
Karnataka chief minister Siddharamaiah comes third richest chief minister in the country. He owns properties worth Rs 51 crore. He also has debts worth Rs 23 crore, the ADR said in its report.
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Benerji is the poorest chief minister in the country. She has properties worth Rs 15 lakh. Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdulla is the second poorest chief ministers with Rs 55 lakh properties to his credit.
Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan is the third poorest chief minister in the country. He owns properties worth Rs 1.18 crore. Vijayan represents the Communist Party of India-Marxist. He is serving as the chief minister of Kerala since 2016.
The ADR said that the average assets of the chief ministers in the State stood at Rs 52.59 crore, while their average annual income stood at Rs 13,64,310, the ADR said in its report.
